MASTER OF SCIENCE PROGRAM CONTENT

The program first gives emphasis to the topics in the fundamentals of graduate level mathematics to carry out a graduate study then starting from the third semester, directs the students in the area of pure mathematics or applied mathematics by the selective courses taken in these disciplines of mathematics.

The main goal is to motivate and prepare students to perform an original academic research, especially in terms of a master thesis, and Ph.D. programs.

The number of courses and course credits of the thesis and non-thesis options are as follows:

Master Program  with Thesis ( 24 credits in total)

  • 5 Compulsory Courses (1 5 credits)
  • 3 Elective Courses ( 9 credits)
  • 1 Seminar Course (no credit)
  • M.S. Thesis (6 course credits)

Master Program without Thesis (33 credits in total)

  • 5 Compulsory Courses (15 credits)
  • 6 Elective Courses (18 credits)
  • 1 Seminar Course (no credit)
  • Graduation Project (no credit)

According to the approval of the thesis supervisor of a graduate student, one of the elective courses may be taken from a different department.
