The B.S. Program of Department of Mathematics is designed to prepare and help motivated students for advanced study in mathematics at M.S. and Ph.D. level in abroad. The Department offers courses to build a student's fundamental knowledge of mathematics and to lead the student in to a moderately specialized area of mathematics in the student's last year of study. As the distinct educational strategy of the department, an overlook of the main fields of mathematics is given in the initial years of the program and in the latter years, these fields of mathematics are taught in moderate details in separate courses to avoid to expose a field of mathematics to the student first time who has no prior knowledge initially. Also the undergraduate program is encompassed by certain computer courses mainly teaching the usage of widely used computer programs by mathematicians worldwide. For completion of the undergraduate degree a student should take the courses in the undergraduate program and elective courses at least total of 131 credits. In the course of expansion of the Department, an Applied Mathematics Program is under consideration to be started from the third year of the program as being seperated from the Pure Mathematics Program of the Department. The lectures are given by our foreign or Turkish lecturers and instructors who are specialized in their areas.
